Hotel Las Torres

Hotel Las Torres is an upscale lodge inside an ecological reserve in Torres del Paine’s eastern sector, right where the trail to the Base Torres viewpoint begins. Its 74 rooms face the Paine Massif backdrop, and the hotel also serves as a base for park hikes and guided day outings. Choose it for comfort and direct trail access; it is a high-end stay, not a budget bunkhouse.

The Excursion Center arranges full- and half-day outings. Guests also have a spa, a welcome center, an outdoor shop, and dining at Coirón Restaurant and Pionero Bar. The operator’s published policy requires a hotel reservation for Coirón, Pionero, the spa and excursion services, so don’t plan on walking in just for lunch or a tour.

The family’s story at the property dates to the 1970s. Horse stables and more than 200 horses are part of its estancia setting, along with traditional Patagonian horsemen, or baqueanos. The hotel combines that working-ranch character with guided excursions and horseback activities in the reserve.

Coirón blends modern cooking with traditional dishes from Chilean Patagonia. Its quincho serves roasted lamb barbecue, a regional tradition, and the half-hectare kitchen garden supplies fruit, vegetables and herbs used in the food and cocktails. Pionero is the casual bar, with house-brewed craft beer, cocktails, and Chilean and international wine. The shop stocks hiking gear, snacks and forgotten pharmacy items.

The location, guided activities and meals are frequent high points for guests. The stay is expensive, and reports on service and communication are mixed. For a shorter visit, the park has other places to stop; this one makes the most sense when you want the hotel and its services as part of the trip.
