Los Cisnes Lagoon Lookout is a named viewpoint on the Y-150 route, looking across Laguna de los Cisnes toward the Paine Massif. It’s a lower-key stop if you’re already driving this side of the park: pause for the view and a chance to watch the waterbirds, rather than making a special detour for a particular species. The lookout is marked along the park road, but the exact parking setup and any walking distance aren’t clear, so keep the visit flexible.

Watch the shorelineWaterbirds are part of the appeal.

Waterbirds are part of the appeal. Black-necked swans, coscoroba swans, upland geese and ducks are reported around the lagoon, especially feeding in spring and summer. Chilean flamingos have also been seen here with the massif behind them, though no species is a sure thing on a given visit. Take time to scan the shallows and far shore instead of expecting a close encounter.

For photos, include some water and the Paine Massif behind it; that shows the lagoon in its setting. If birds appear, leave enough shoreline and water around them to show where they are rather than filling the frame with a small, distant subject.
