Overview
Mirador Laguna Larga is a simple scenic perch in the Lazo–Weber sector, set near Laguna de los Cisnes. It’s not a marquee stop—think quiet vantage of a small lagoon chain with the Paine Massif and Lago del Toro opening up beyond. If you like big skies and fewer people, it’s a worthy add‑on.
What You’ll See
Expect an overlook of the namesake Laguna Larga and neighboring ponds, with broad panoramas toward Lago del Toro where the Paine River spreads out. On clear, windy days (often), raptors ride the thermals and the massif’s skyline dominates the horizon.
How to Visit
Most hikers tag this viewpoint as a short spur off the Lago del Toro Lookout – Lagoons Loop starting by the Weber Bridge near the Park Administration/Visitor Center. The loop is about 14.3 km/8.9 mi with ~577 m/1,893 ft of gain, usually 4.5–5 hours, and begins with a thigh‑burning climb before undulating past a string of lagoons. A point‑to‑point Lazo–Weber variant also passes the lagoons and finishes near the Weber Bridge, giving a fresh angle on the massif.

- Difficulty: Challenging primarily due to the initial ascent; afterward it’s rolling terrain.
- Wayfinding: Signage can be sparse—carry an offline map with the viewpoint waypoint marked.
- Dogs: Not allowed on park trails.
- Facilities: None at the mirador itself.
Wildlife
Open steppe and lagoon edges make good habitat for guanacos and foxes, with condors and other raptors commonly soaring overhead. Waterbirds frequent nearby lagoons; dawn and dusk offer your best wildlife windows.
Best Time to Visit
October–March brings longer daylight and generally better footing. The viewpoint itself is always exposed to weather; wind is common and conditions change fast, so check current park notices for temporary closures and go prepared.

Patagonian weather swings from sun to squalls quickly. Pack layers, a wind/rain shell, sun protection, water, snacks, and trekking poles for the steep climb. Stay on established paths, mind gusts near exposed edges, and pack out all trash.
