Waterton Lakes Opera House is a historic cinema and performance venue in the Waterton townsite, on Windflower Avenue across from the playground at Cameron Falls Drive. Its program includes films, special events and live performances. It's a good indoor evening if you'd like a break from another outdoor stop; plan around a screening or event instead of dropping in at any time. Check the current schedule before going; it doesn't keep regular daily hours.

The concession offers fresh hot popcorn, soft-serve ice cream, cool drinks and other snacks. Plan a separate meal if you're hungry for dinner; this is a movie treat stop, not a full meal plan. The operator also welcomes daytime visitors for concessions when the venue is open, but regular daytime hours aren't posted.

The theatre retains a traditional movie-house feel, including older seating rather than modern recliners. That old-fashioned character is part of the appeal, though the seats may feel less comfortable if you expect a newer cinema.

The building was constructed in 1935–36 by the Parks Branch Architectural Division and began as the Brewerton Cinema. Over the years it was called The Mayfair, The Center and The Alpine before taking its current name. The Brewerton family operated it until 1976. Its 35 mm Motiograph projector stayed in use until 2011, when the theatre switched to digital projection; the projector was later donated to the Galt Museum.
