Point Lace Falls is a small waterfall on a marked side spur off the Yoho Valley trail, where water spreads over exposed, layered rock. Make it an add-on to the valley walk; beside Yoho's much larger falls, this is a modest stop.

The detourFrom the Takakkaw Falls parking lot, follow the valley-bottom trail about 2.

From the Takakkaw Falls parking lot, follow the valley-bottom trail about 2.4 km to the marked spur, then walk roughly 200 m to the falls. The trail's easy section is packed gravel with minor elevation gain. It continues toward Laughing Falls and Twin Falls, so Point Lace fits naturally into a longer walk.

Water over the rockThe cascade drops about 45 feet over exposed layers in the valley wall.

The cascade drops about 45 feet over exposed layers in the valley wall. Its water comes from snowfields along the Iceline and seasonal water from Lake Duchesnay. For a photo, keep the sloping rock face in frame; the spreading threads of water are easier to see against the full layered wall.

Getting to the trailheadThe Takakkaw Falls parking lot is 17 km northeast of Field at the end of Yoho Valley Road.

The Takakkaw Falls parking lot is 17 km northeast of Field at the end of Yoho Valley Road. The road is usually open from mid-June through mid-October. Trailers aren't permitted, and vehicles over 7 m must reverse around the tight switchbacks.
