About Beezley Falls

Why stop

  • Close views of cascades and the distinctive Triple Spout
  • Atmospheric oak woodland and limestone gorge

Heads up

  • Requires the full ticketed circuit
  • Many steps and slippery sections
Beezley Falls is a series of cascades on the River Doe, in the oak woodland section of the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail. From here the Doe descends over Triple Spout, three beautiful waterfalls side by side. The setting is a limestone valley at the foot of Ingleborough, and it is a stretch worth slowing down for as you work round the circuit.

Thornton Force is a separate waterfall on the same trail but on the River Twiss, so the two are different in character and worth seeing as a pair. Around Beezley the woodland is oak, ash, birch and hazel, with bluebells, dog's mercury, mosses and ferns at ground level, and much of the trail is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Part of one long walkThe falls sit partway around a 4.

The falls sit partway around a 4.5 mile circular route that runs one way, clockwise, starting from the Broadwood entrance just outside Ingleton, signposted from the A65. Allow 2 to 4 hours, with an average of about 2.5 hours. Limited free parking at Broadwood Car Park is for ticket holders, and there is EV charging at that car park.

There are toilets at the car park and again roughly halfway at Falls Park, which has a picnic area with views towards Ingleborough, plus the Falls Cafe and kiosks. Mobile data is unreliable on the trail, so download the self guided geology and ecology guide before you set off; there are also WiFi hotspots. As a practical point, after rain the falls may be fuller, and it is worth checking opening times and starting early enough to finish comfortably in daylight.

This is a ticketed walk rather than a quick roadside look, and the constant steps make it a genuinely strenuous half day rather than a gentle stroll.
