From Highway 60 at km 40.3, the campground is 6 km south along gravel Rock Lake Road. It operates seasonally, with the listed pattern of opening for the May long weekend and again from mid-June through Labour Day; check the current year's dates before booking.

The facilities are basic

The campground has vault privies, not flush toilets. For flush toilets, showers and laundry, head 2 km south to Rock Lake Campground. Raccoon Lake has a beach, though recent visitors disagree about the swimming experience; think of it as a small campground waterfront rather than a full-service beach stop.
