Bryce Canyon General Store is a historic timber store on Lodge Loop Road, north of Bryce Canyon Lodge and near Sunrise Point and North Campground. It’s a practical stop for quick food or camping basics during a park day. I’d stop when you need supplies; it isn’t a viewpoint or a place to set aside a long visit.

The counter is for grab-and-go food: pizza slices, salads, sandwiches, soup, ice cream and drinks. You can also find groceries, snacks, camping supplies, firewood and souvenirs. It’s a useful quick meal or resupply stop, though the food selection is narrower than a full-service restaurant.

There are public flush restrooms, including an accessible restroom, parking, benches and a picnic table. Seasonal services include a potable-water fill, pay showers and coin-operated laundry. Shower and laundry equipment conditions can vary, so check before depending on either service. The store itself follows a seasonal schedule and typically closes between January and March.

The Utah Parks Company built this structure in 1932 as the Cafeteria and Camp Center, intended as the central building of a housekeeping camp. Architect Gilbert Stanley Underwood also designed Bryce Canyon Lodge. The company hoped the small building could serve as an off-season operations center, but it proved too small for the job.

From Bryce Canyon Inn to General StoreThe building was renamed Bryce Canyon Inn in 1954.

The building was renamed Bryce Canyon Inn in 1954. Tents, cabins, sanitation facilities and other camp buildings once stood nearby; those surrounding structures were removed between 1974 and 1989, and the remaining building later became the General Store. The Utah Parks Company, a Union Pacific subsidiary, operated as the park’s sole concessioner until 1972. The store was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995 for its example of Underwood’s Rustic design.
