Getting there

Reach it on foot from Bryce Point. The loop is 5.5 miles, strenuous, and gains 1,560 feet; allow about three to four hours for the full hike. The park recommends clockwise travel. The toilet operates in summer only, with no exact opening or closing dates published. Deep winter snow can make the route inaccessible, and the natural terrain means the trail is not considered accessible.

Peekaboo Loop Restroom is a seasonal pit toilet on the west side of the Peekaboo Loop, near the horse corral. It's the only restroom on a hiking trail in Bryce Canyon, so it can be a useful stop several miles into a canyon hike.

A canyon-bottom engineering fixServicing the original solar composting vault was difficult at the bottom of the canyon.

Servicing the original solar composting vault was difficult at the bottom of the canyon. A 2021 rebuild changed the system to divert urine to a leach field and collect solids in removable bags, avoiding the old vault that was hard to empty.
