Buck Canyon Overlook is a classic Island in the Sky stop: a short, smooth paved path (about 0.1 mile/200 ft) leads to a railed platform perched at 6,240 feet on the east rim. It’s the definition of high-reward, low-effort—perfect when the desert heat or a tight schedule rules out longer hikes.

From the platform, you get sweeping views into Buck Canyon and the broader Colorado River Basin, with the White Rim bench spread below and the La Sal Mountains anchoring the horizon.
