Setting & History

The venue sits within Cape Cod National Seashore at the Highlands Center, a 110‑acre former Air Force station now dedicated to arts, science, and education in partnership with the National Park Service. Payomet launched in 1998 and later expanded into live music and a professional circus program known as Cirque by the Sea.
