Hiking Post Line Trail

A short line within a full circuitPost Line is a roughly 0.

Post Line is a roughly 0.36-mile rough singletrack segment on the southern side of the East Rim loop, connecting back to the main trail at both ends. The practical outing is the East Rim circuit with Post Line in place of that short stretch; it is not a separate Post Line loop. The National Park Service lists the full circuit at 2.3 miles. The mapped trail line with Post Line measures about 2.1 miles before the short walk from parking to the first access. Allow about 1.5 hours for the circuit and the rocky section.

What the line feels likePost Line crosses a narrow, unpaved boulder field under trees.

Post Line crosses a narrow, unpaved boulder field under trees. Its rocks and uneven tread make this a more technical choice than the mileage suggests. The East Rim system is built for mountain biking as well as hiking, and NPS permits hikers and runners; stay alert for riders and follow posted travel directions.
