Jenny Lake Campground

Jenny Lake Campground is a 61-site, tent-only campground in conifer forest a few hundred yards from Jenny Lake's east shore. It's a useful base if you want to spend time around the lake and its trails, with the Teton skyline across the water. The 51 regular tent sites are reservable; 10 hiker-and-bicyclist sites are first-come, first-served and have no vehicle parking. Not every campsite has the same mountain view.

Each campsite has a picnic table, fire pit and bear box. Seasonal services include potable water, flush toilets, cold running water, coin-operated showers and a camp store with ice and firewood. The campground is seasonal, so check which services are operating for your dates.

This is for tents: RVs, trailers, campers and generators aren't allowed. Vehicles can be no more than 8 feet high or 14 feet long. A regular site allows up to two tents, one vehicle and six people, with a seven-night maximum stay.

Three sites are ADA-compliant. The loop roads are paved and generally level, with a hill at each end; NPS lists the restrooms and registration area as accessible. Accessible showers are along a paved path and are for campers.

The campground straddles a glacial moraine under an open forest of lodgepole pine, subalpine fir and Douglas fir. From some sites, Teewinot Mountain, Cascade Canyon and Mount St. John rise across Jenny Lake. If your site is tucked among trees, the shore is only a short walk away for a wider lake view.
