Guide
Jenny Lake Visitor Center is a small historic log cabin in the Jenny Lake plaza, now a seasonal information center with an art-and-conservation exhibit and bookstore. It’s a useful stop before a lake outing if you want trail or weather advice, a ranger program, or a little context for the old studio. The boat shuttle and trails serve nearby Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point; this building is the orientation stop, not those destinations.
Rangers can help with trail, weather and general park questions. Inside, an exhibit connects art with conservation, and the bookstore gives you time to browse before heading out. It’s easy to pair the visit with the nearby lakeshore or a boat trip without making the visitor center the whole outing.
Harrison Crandall used this cabin as a photography studio, making and selling Teton photographs and postcards to visitors. He became the park’s official photographer. That history fits the current exhibit: this is a place where art and the landscape’s protection meet.
