Teton Glacier Turnout is a roadside viewpoint on Teton Park Road, looking toward the northeast flank of Grand Teton. It is a short stop rather than a hike, and on a clear day you can pick out Teton Glacier high beneath the peak. The turnout is wheelchair accessible and has interpretive information.
Teton Glacier is Grand Teton National Park’s largest glacier and a remnant of the Little Ice Age. It clings to the mountain’s shaded northeast side, with a rocky moraine below. By summer, melting winter snow exposes gray ice and crevasses. The glacier still flows downhill under gravity even as it retreats.
