Icefields Centre RV is a seasonal, 100-site campground for trailers and RVs beside the Columbia Icefield Centre on the Icefields Parkway, about 130 km north of Lake Louise. Its draw is the view toward Athabasca Glacier. I’d use it as a practical overnight base for the icefield, not for a secluded campground experience: the pitches are in an open paved lot with little separation between rigs.

Come ready to dry campSites are first come, first served, with no reservations.

Sites are first come, first served, with no reservations. Parks Canada classifies the campground as primitive: there’s no water on site and campfires aren’t permitted. Some spaces slope, so leveling blocks help. Expect basic dry toilets and picnic tables in the RV area; the indoor facilities at the neighbouring visitor centre are separate. The campground runs seasonally, so check the current dates before planning an overnight.

You’re about 130 km north of Lake Louise and close to the Columbia Icefield’s visitor attractions, making this a useful base if you want to spend more time in the area without driving farther that day. Choose it for the location and glacier view if your RV is self-contained; skip it if you want privacy or a more secluded place to camp.
