Tucked inside the lower level of the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre, Glacier Gallery is the park’s glacier‑focused exhibit—perfect for getting the why behind the wow you see outside. It’s concise, engaging, and right where you’re likely stopping anyway along the Icefields Parkway.
If you’re heading to the Athabasca Glacier or the Glacier Skywalk, this is the quick, high‑value primer that makes everything outside make sense. It’s also a welcome indoor break when the weather turns.

Guide
Use the Gallery before or after your Athabasca Glacier experience or Skywalk visit; both depart from the same Discovery Centre complex. If you’re lingering, the building also has dining and a shop, and there are patio viewpoints for glacier gazing.
The exhibit is indoors, but the surrounding Icefields Parkway corridor often produces sightings of mountain goats, bighorn sheep, marmots, and occasionally bears—keep your eyes open on the drive and nearby pullouts.
