CLOSURE

Exit Glacier canyon closed for outburst-flood risk

Do not enter the canyon from the toe of Exit Glacier to where Exit Creek opens into the Outwash Plain. Glacier hydrology can produce unpredictable outburst floods at any time, regardless of prevailing weather. - Sudden surges may carry water, large ice chunks, rock, and other debris. - Stay on designated park trails; they do not pass through outburst-flood-susceptible areas. - The entire Outwash Plain is susceptible to flooding. Water levels may rise quickly; seek high ground immediately if they begin to rise. Check current park conditions before setting out.
