Canyon View is a 16-site, tent-only group campground on the floor of Kings Canyon, among cedar and ponderosa pines beside the South Fork of the Kings River. Twelve sites take 7–19 people and four larger sites take 20–30 or 20–40; every site requires a reservation. RVs and trailers aren't allowed. The campground sits on CA-180 near mile 32.4, about 32 miles from the park entrance.

What comes with a siteEach site has picnic tables, a fire ring and a bear-resistant food locker.

Each site has picnic tables, a fire ring and a bear-resistant food locker. Black bears are active in the area, so store food and scented items in the locker. Potable water and flush toilets are seasonal; there are no showers at camp. The seasonal camp store sells ice and firewood. Cedar Grove Village is about a quarter mile away for a snack bar, showers and laundry. The campground itself also operates seasonally, and opening dates vary.

Campsite C is designated accessible, with four of its six tent pads accessible, along with accessible grills, extended tables and restroom routes.

Granite above campThe campground takes its name from the views of Kings Canyon's granite cliffs.

The campground takes its name from the views of Kings Canyon's granite cliffs. Across this glaciated valley, North Dome (8,717 feet) and Grand Sentinel (8,518 feet) rise roughly 3,500 feet above the canyon floor.
