Overview
About Lake Clark Resort (The Farm Lodge)
Why stop
- Cabins, meals and flightseeing make a comfortable base for remote outings.
- Guests repeatedly praise the staff and help coordinating excursions.
Heads up
- Getting there and arranging outings depend on limited flights, rooms and tours.
Glen and Patty Alsworth started The Farm Lodge and Lake Clark Air in 1977 in their home on Hardenburg Bay. The operation moved into its current hillside facility in 1997. The lodge and flight service grew together, which helps explain why flying and local excursions are such a big part of a stay here.

Cissie's Kitchen“Cissie's Kitchen is coming up, also known as CK's Food Truck. It's a casual food trailer known for burgers and milkshakes, with picnic tables beneath a timber roof. I'd stop for a cooked meal and a sit-down break.”

Lake Clark Resort, better known as The Farm Lodge, is a family-run fly-in lodge in Port Alsworth, on private land inside Lake Clark National Park. Its 12 cabins and dining room sit on a hillside above Hardenburg Bay. Think of it as a place to stay between remote trips, not a roadside stop.

A sample trip flies from Anchorage through Lake Clark Pass in about an hour, then uses the lodge as a base for flights, boat trips and other outings. There is no road approach. Arrange lodging and transport well ahead: rooms, aircraft and tours are limited, and weather can affect excursions. One package pairs the stay with local hikes toward the visitor center, Tanalian Falls and Kontrashibuna Lake.

The operator's sample package includes home-cooked Alaskan meals, daily housekeeping and a room with a private bathroom. Lunch is packed for outings rather than served in the dining room, and the lodge asks for dietary needs well ahead. The meal service is described as part of a guest stay, so don't plan on an unarranged public lunch stop here.
