Silver Salmon Creek: Sedge meadow and ORV restrictions

Stay out of the Silver Salmon Creek sedge meadow and use only approved ORV corridors. - The meadow between the Sargent Creek confluence and Silver Salmon Creek is closed to human entry June 15–September 15 for habitat restoration; stay on the established foot path. - The beach is the only corridor formally approved for general-public ORV use. Trails highlighted in pink on the map require a National Park Service special use permit. - Park ORVs at the end of the beach trail adjacent to the creek crossing and access the creek on foot; riding up to or along the creek is disruptive to bears and other visitors. Check current Silver Salmon Creek conditions before traveling.

Chinitna Bay: Sedge meadow closure

Do not enter the closed Chinitna Bay sedge meadow beyond the river at the bear-viewing site. - The meadow is closed because of high bear use; stay out of it for your own safety. - The sedge meadows are important habitat for brown bear families gathering food to survive the winter. Check current Chinitna Bay conditions before visiting.
