Short gravel forest loop by a beck, Grisedale Pike looming above
Overview
Great as a short family outing, a leg-stretch before or after the cafe, or a low-commitment woodland walk when the tops are out of the question. The drawback is simple: it is very short and fairly niche, the views are a glimpse rather than a panorama, and it is no substitute for a fell day. Treat it as a pleasant half-hour-plus in the trees, not a headline Lake District hike.

Trail guide
A complete circular loop of 1.1 miles (1.73 km) through quiet conifer woodland at Whinlatter, starting and finishing at Revelin Moss Car Park. That mileage is the whole circuit, not an out-and-back, and most people walk it in about 45 minutes at a relaxed pace with a few stops.
From the car park you follow a wide gravel track and head south alongside a small mountain stream. The outward leg climbs steadily to a southern turn, then a separate connected path brings you back down to the junction, where a short access track closes the loop at the car park. It is uphill out and downhill back, which is a tidy way to get the effort over with early.
This is a woodland walk first: moss, conifers, and the sound of the beck beside you, with a small bridge crossing as the natural pause point. The payoff is the view out to Grisedale Pike, which towers over Revelin Moss and gives the walk a proper Lakeland backdrop. Morning or late afternoon light tends to bring out the texture of the trees and make the distant fell read more clearly, though that is a preference rather than a promise.
Dogs are welcome. The usual sense applies: keep an eye on them near the stream and the bridge, clean up after them, and give wildlife space.
The park authority grades this as Miles without Stiles, 'For some', and notes that some robust off-road mobility scooters can use it. That is not the same as being suitable for all wheelchairs or all users, and the gradients are the reason. Judge it against your own kit and confidence.
