Parking

Use First Creek Trailhead to reach the Wet Prong end; the approach is additional to the 1.8-mile connector. The far end meets Collie Ridge and Raymer Hollow. There is no vehicle access at either endpoint, so plan a connected trail route or retrace the segment.

Safety

A reported creek crossing may require wading when water covers the stepping stones. The nearby fork and Wet Prong junction can be hard to identify; use a current backcountry map and do not attempt a high-water crossing.

Hiking Blair Springs Hollow Trail

What this connector isBlair Springs Hollow is a 1.

Blair Springs Hollow is a 1.8-mile one-way link between the Wet Prong Trail and the Collie Ridge/Raymer Hollow junction. It is a backcountry connector, not a loop or a parking-to-parking walk. Allow about one hour for this segment and decide in advance whether you are continuing on the connected trails or retracing it. The Wet Prong junction may be unmarked, so carry a current backcountry map and watch for the blue blaze.

Dogs are allowed on surface trails on a leash no longer than six feet. Horse riders also use the backcountry trails, so move aside and keep dogs calm when riders pass.

Down to the creekFrom the Wet Prong end, the path narrows into a gully and drops toward a small creek.

From the Wet Prong end, the path narrows into a gully and drops toward a small creek. The exact creek and the fork near it are not consistently mapped. At low water, stepping stones have been used there, but water can cover them; do not count on staying dry or on a safe crossing after rain. The path rolls for a short stretch near Wet Prong before turning uphill.

The climb to Collie RidgeExpect uneven dirt tread, a short steep rise and a longer, steadier climb with level breaks.

Expect uneven dirt tread, a short steep rise and a longer, steadier climb with level breaks. Older route descriptions mention hoof-worn mud pits and informal bypasses, but the present surface is unclear. The final stretch is more gently rolling and follows a sunken path to a four-way junction with a picnic table and hitching posts. The elevation profile drops to about 179 meters near the creek and reaches about 256 meters at the far end.
