Bench rows face a large screen across a gravel aisle, with trees around the edges. There's also a fire pit at the venue, though don't assume it will be lit during a program. This is a simple outdoor setting for a ranger talk, rather than a large performance venue.
The campground is accessible only through Pinnacles' East Entrance; park roads don't connect it to the west-side entrance area. If you're visiting both sides, plan them as separate drives. The amphitheater makes most sense as part of an east-side visit, especially when a program is scheduled.
