Overview

About Sendero Esperanza to the Ridgeline

Why go

  • Broad valley panoramas from the ridgeline
  • A gentler first mile before the switchback climb

Heads up

  • The ridge is the turnaround; continuing to Wasson Peak is a much longer hike
The view opens over the valley as you climb, with the broad panorama arriving at the ridgeline. The planned turnaround is where Sendero Esperanza meets Hugh Norris Trail. Turning back there keeps the route at 3.4 miles; continuing toward Wasson Peak makes it a different, much longer hike. The walk starts on sandy tread and finishes with a rockier, steeper climb, including low steps.
