A small north-shore access

Bass Lake (North) Access is a small sandy beach on one of Sleeping Bear Dunes' inland lakes, about six miles north of Glen Arbor on the east side of M-22. A short sandy two-track reaches the north shore, where you can park close to the water. Make sure your route is set to this northern lake; the park has another Bass Lake in Benzie County.

The firm shore and sandy bottom make this a straightforward swimming stop. You can also fish or launch a kayak from the shore; electric motors are allowed year-round. Most of the lake remains wild, though two small cabins sit at one end, so expect a simple lakeside stop rather than a developed beach complex.
