Canyon Lodge and Cabins

Canyon Lodge and Cabins is a large lodging campus in Canyon Village, with more than 500 guest rooms and cabins among the trees near the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. Its main draw is location: you stay inside the park, close to the canyon viewpoints and well placed for both the Upper and Lower Loops. It works best as an overnight base rather than a stand-alone attraction. Check in at Washburn Lodge on Clover Lane; rooms and cabins are spread across several buildings.

Choose from lodge rooms and suites or the more rustic Western Cabins. The five lodge buildings were completed in 2016 and are LEED-certified. Rooms and cabins have private bathrooms, but the in-room setup is simple: there is no air-conditioning, television or cooking. Some cabin types allow pets, so check the rules for the exact unit you book.

Canyon Eatery is within walking distance on the lodging campus. It brings together the Canyon Lodge Eatery, quick options at Falls Café, a gift shop and an Ice Creamery. Falls Café has grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, snacks and specialty coffee; the Ice Creamery serves hand-dipped ice cream. That makes it easy to get something before heading out or after a day around the canyon without driving to another village.

This is a seasonal stay, generally running from mid-May into late October, with exact dates that vary by year. Wi-Fi is offered in guest rooms and shared buildings, but visitor reports on reliability are mixed, so don't make it your only way to check routes or plans. The campus is spread out, and the map point is the Washburn Lodge check-in rather than every room or cabin.
