The short, partly paved loop passes reconstructed structures and plant interpretation. Its center is level but unpaved; the museum is wheelchair accessible, though its entrances do not have automatic doors. A few designated accessible parking spaces are just west of the building. The village structures represent a late-19th-century Sierra Nevada Miwok village and include bark houses, a ceremonial roundhouse, a sweathouse, acorn granaries and pounding rocks. The village stands on the site of Yosemite Valley’s largest village, and local Native community members continue to use it for ceremonies and gatherings.
