Torrent Bay Lodge is Wilsons’ 13-room lodge just above the beach at Torrent Bay, inside Abel Tasman National Park. Wilsons includes stays here in multi-day walking, kayaking and coastal-cruise journeys. This is not general walk-in accommodation or a public restaurant, so independent Coast Track walkers should not plan on dropping in for a room or meal. For trip guests, it’s a comfortable, catered stop between days out on the coast.

The rooms are all ensuite, with hot showers and central heating. Lodge-based journeys include dinner, breakfast and packed lunches; the in-house chefs prepare seasonal menus with New Zealand ingredients, and beer and wine are available to buy. Shared meals may be served indoors or outside overlooking the beach.

The building began as the family’s summer cottage in 1968 and has since been extended and refurbished. That private bach grew into a beachfront overnight base for Wilsons’ journeys. The lodge sits beside the sand, though a beach setting does not guarantee a view from every room.
