Bristol Point Campground

Overview

Set in coastal bush just behind the sand, Bristol Point Campground is the quiet, nature‑first option on the Jervis Bay side. It’s walk‑in only, so you park in bays and carry your gear a short distance to your site—rewarded with a peaceful vibe, wildlife at your doorstep, and easy access to Bristol Point and nearby Green Patch beaches.

Campsites & Facilities

• Tents only—sites are walk‑in (not suitable for caravans or camper trailers). Parking is generally within about 50 m of tent pads.
• Two site sizes: standard (max 5 people) and large (max 10 people).
• Amenities include toilets, hot and cold showers, fresh drinking water, wood BBQs and designated fireplaces with firewood supplied. Gas appliances are fine, but on total fire ban days all fires (including gas) are prohibited.
• All sites are unpowered and generators aren’t permitted.

Nature & Wildlife

Expect regular encounters with wallabies and possums, plus abundant birdlife; echidnas are occasionally seen shuffling through the leaf litter. Out in the bay, dolphins are often spotted. The short paths to the beach and the rocky shore make for easy sunrise and evening strolls.

Beach & Water

This side of Jervis Bay is generally calmer than the ocean side, making it inviting for a dip on settled days. Keep an eye out for seasonal bluebottle jellyfish warnings before swimming.

Booking, Passes & Rules

Advance online booking is essential—warm months (October–May) and weekends can sell out a month ahead. If you’ve booked, you can go straight to your site and display your confirmation; vacate by 12 noon on departure day. Pets aren’t allowed, and the campground is managed for quiet enjoyment.

Published nightly rates (per site) at the time of research: Off‑peak $35 (standard) / $70 (large); Shoulder $70 / $140; Peak $100 / $180. A park pass is included in camping fees.

Best Time to Visit

For fewer people and easier bookings, target weekdays and shoulder seasons outside school holidays. Summer and warm weekends are the busiest. Arriving earlier in the day helps with the relaxed, walk‑in setup and gives you more daylight for beach time.

Nearby

From camp you can wander to Green Patch and Iluka beaches, with easy coastal ambles to rocky features like Hole in the Wall and Scottish Rocks. Murrays Beach is a short drive away if you want another sheltered option.
