Trail guide
This is a 1.1 km one-way low-tide shoreline walk from Murrays Beach car park to the sandstone opening called Hole in the Wall. It goes past the boat ramp and along an exposed rock platform; walk back the same way for 2.2 km total. The listed 30 minutes is one way, so allow about an hour. It is a good short outing if your timing lines up with low tide; otherwise, choose another walk.
From the car park, head to Murrays Boat Ramp, turn left, and continue along the shore to the formation. The destination is a broad U-shaped gap in the sandstone at the water’s edge. This is a different route from the inland Hole in the Wall Track, which starts at a roadside lay-by; do not use that separate track to plan this walk.
The exposed rock shelf is part of the route, so only go when it is exposed at low tide. All plants and animals on the platform are protected, including shellfish, seaweed, octopus and crabs; leave them undisturbed. Dogs are not allowed in Booderee National Park.
