Overview
Green Patch Campground is the classic Booderee base: bushy, private-feeling sites tucked behind powdery white sand and clear, kid‑friendly water. It’s popular for good reason—easy beach access, loads of wildlife, and facilities that actually make camping feel like a holiday.
Campsites & Layout
You’ll choose between standard or large sites, offered as drive‑in or walk‑in. Walk‑in sites aren’t suitable for caravans or camper trailers, but parking is within about 50 m of tents. The whole place is unpowered, so plan to run on batteries/solar.
Facilities
Expect fresh drinking water, flush toilets, and hot‑water showers. Sheltered barbecue areas include electric and wood BBQs, picnic tables, and a big day‑use area; the park supplies firewood, though bringing a personal gas BBQ helps when it’s busy or the wood is damp. Mobile coverage can be unreliable.
Beach & Activities
Green Patch Beach sits a short wander from camp—calm for swimming and great for a snorkel on clear days. Around camp and the nearby lagoon you’ll find short walks and easy exploring. After dark, head to the sand for standout stargazing. Expect regular wildlife encounters: kangaroos browsing around camp, bold possums after dusk, and frequent birdlife. Some visitors even spot dolphins from the beach.
What to Watch For
Possums will raid anything left out—lock food away. Because it’s a headline campground, weekends and the warmer months can feel busy, and sites book out early.

Bookings are online only and are allocated by site size and vehicles. A park entry fee applies, and stay limits and fire restrictions may change—check current details before you go. There are no shops in camp; stock up in Huskisson or Vincentia and bring drinking water containers. Weather on Jervis Bay turns quickly, so pack layers and rain gear.
Best Time to Visit
For space and easier bookings, aim for weekdays in spring or autumn and outside school holidays. Summer is prime beach weather but also peak crowds. Sunrise brings soft light (and your best chance of spotting dolphins), while clear, moonless nights are ideal for the Milky Way over the bay.
