Guide
Green Patch is a bookable campground in Booderee National Park, set among trees and bushland close to Green Patch Beach and its lagoon. Standard and large sites come in drive-in and walk-in options. Book online ahead: warmer-season weekends from October to May can fill up about a month in advance. With a Green Patch booking, you can go straight to your campsite and show your confirmation on the dashboard; sites are vacated by noon.
All sites are unpowered. The shared facilities include fresh water, public toilets, hot-water showers and sheltered barbecues, with tables and seating. Bring your own gas barbecue if you prefer; the shared cooking facilities can be busy. Pets and generators are not allowed. Fires are limited to the park's provided fire pits or fireplaces, subject to total fire-ban rules.
The lagoon and Green Patch Beach are close by, with short walks and beginner-friendly snorkeling at the beach. In the bush around camp, keep an eye out for kangaroos and other native wildlife. The park also notes wallabies, lorikeets, parrots and echidnas around Green Patch; these are possible sightings, not a promise.
