Trail guide
Leault Trail is a roughly 3-mile loop from central Kincraig through broadleaved woodland and a working sheep farm. Choose it for a varied local walk with open views across the surrounding hills; it’s a countryside circuit, not a summit hike. Allow about two hours for this moderate route.
The loop leaves the village, crosses woodland and farmland, then returns to Kincraig. You’ll use a mix of local roads, pavements and grassy track. Some of the grass is rough and uneven, and a few short moderate slopes break up the walk. Expect a varied village edge and working-farm landscape rather than one continuous surfaced path.
The mapped start is on Suidhe Crescent in Kincraig. The loop passes through a working sheep farm. Dogs can join, but keep them on a short lead or close at heel near livestock; stay out of fields with lambs or other young animals.
