“You're nearing Feshiebridge, where the Frank Bruce Sculpture Trail makes an unusual woodland break. The gentle one-mile circuit takes about forty-five minutes through trees and a former walled garden.”

The River Feshie Trail is a short circular walk from Inshriach forest car park at Feshiebridge. The published distance is 1¼ miles (2 km), with about an hour allowed. It follows a narrow natural path beside the river, then returns through woodland. The draw is a close look at the stone-bottomed river on a compact outing.

Footing and effortThis is a demanding short walk, not a smooth stroll.

This is a demanding short walk, not a smooth stroll. Much of the track is narrow and grassy, with uneven rocky patches, short fairly steep slopes and narrow bridges. Rain can leave the path muddy. The official grade is strenuous; take time on the rougher stretches and bridges, especially if footing is wet.

Dogs are allowed, but keep them on a lead in Inshriach Forest from 1 April to 15 August to protect ground-nesting birds. The car park has free daytime parking and a picnic area, but no toilets. Kincraig is the nearest place for food; public toilets are in Aviemore, Glenmore or Kingussie. Choose this loop for a brief river walk, not the much longer Feshiebridge–Uath Lochans–Loch Insh circuit.
