Trail guide
White Water Trail is a 2½-mile (3.9-km) loop from Glen Doll car park, following a forest track past Acharn and beside the White Water before crossing a footbridge and returning on the narrower far-bank path. Allow about 1½ hours. Follow the white waymarkers where paths meet; keep left toward Corrie Fee at the early fork, then stay on the main track as Jock's Road branches away.
Expect uneven gravel, narrow grassy stretches that can be muddy, and a few short, fairly steep slopes. The walk is mostly a forest ramble, but wet footing and the narrower return path make it less smooth than the short distance suggests.
The White Water is a fast burn descending from the Cairngorms; meltwater can make it froth with foam at some times of year. Look for red squirrels, siskins and roe deer in the forest. Dogs are allowed under responsible access rules; keep them close to heel around farm animals and ground-nesting birds.
