Hiking Dickerson Run Trail

A short connector, not a loopDickerson Run Trail is a 1.

Dickerson Run Trail is a 1.2-mile point-to-point connector in Cuyahoga Valley's Wetmore area, running from Langes Run Trail to Wetmore Trail. The distance is one way, not a round trip. Allow about 40 minutes for the segment itself. It is a winding, fully wooded route with a gentle overall descent; choose it for a shaded link through the trail network, not as a destination hike.

What the walk is likeFrom the southern junction, the path winds through the trees and gradually loses elevation…

From the southern junction, the path winds through the trees and gradually loses elevation before meeting Wetmore Trail. The grades are generally gentle, and the route stays under tree cover. It feels much like the surrounding unpaved Wetmore network. There is no distinct lookout or destination at the far end; the payoff is the wooded corridor and the connection between two trails. Spring and heavy rain can leave trails in this area muddy.

Fitting it into a longer walkThe south end meets Langes Run Trail; from Wetmore Trailhead, that access is across Wetmore…

The south end meets Langes Run Trail; from Wetmore Trailhead, that access is across Wetmore Road from the information board. The north end joins Wetmore Trail, so plan a loop or a return through the connected trail network before setting out. Wetmore Trailhead has auto parking, restrooms and a kiosk; these are at the trailhead, not on the segment. Hikers share these trails with horses and should yield. Leashed pets are allowed in the park; use a leash no longer than six feet.
