Wetmore Trail is a 4.6-mile loop in the park’s Wetmore area, with a typical hike of about 2.5 hours. It rolls through woods and creek corridors on unpaved ground. Pick it for a longer woodland walk with several short climbs; the route itself is the payoff, not a single summit or waterfall. The line starts at Wetmore Trailhead, reaches the circuit along a shared access path, and retraces a short piece near the end.

Horses share the trail and have the right of way, so step aside and give riders room. Dogs are allowed on leash, no longer than six feet.

Frederick and Emila Wetmore farmed here in the late 1800s. In 1958, Tress and Peggy Pittenger bought the property and developed it as Blackacre Farm. Today’s trails follow old horse paths and logging roads. The farm buildings were removed in 2022 as part of habitat restoration; rows of white tree shelters in nearby fields mark the planting work.
