Grampians National Park, VIC
Rocky uphill track to a shaded seasonal waterfall base
Overview
The falls sit in a shaded, enclosed setting with ferns, tea-tree and layered rock, and you can walk right to the base of the drop. It is a small, sheltered pocket rather than a wide lookout view, and the closeness is the appeal.

Trail guide
An out-and-back walk of 3.2 km return, taking roughly 2 hours including time spent at the falls. It is rated Grade 3, with a practical difficulty of 4/10. Short in distance, but the surfaces do most of the work.
Start at the picnic area beside Kalymna Falls Campground on Mount William Picnic Ground Road. Walk west through the gate and follow the management vehicle track uphill through Stringybark forest. Where the signposted Kalymna Falls Track branches off, leave the vehicle track and descend through thick tea-tree undergrowth to the base of the falls. Return by the same route.
Wear shoes with real grip and take the descent slowly, especially when the rock is damp.
Park and begin at the campground picnic area on Mount William Picnic Ground Road, then head west through the gate. Dogs are not allowed, and assistance-dog access follows separate requirements. Also prohibited in this area: generators, bicycles, firearms, camping, fires and horses.
This is a national park bush walk, so treat the standard risks as real: limbs or trees may fall, the ground is uneven, and surfaces and rocks can be slippery. Shallow water adds another hazard where the track meets creek lines. Wet rocks and mossy logs around the base are slippery, so pick your footing carefully.
