Marriners Lookout

Marriners Lookout is a hilltop viewpoint just above Apollo Bay. From the grassy rise, you look across the curved beach, town and ocean, with green hinterland beyond. It’s a good quick stop if you want to see how Apollo Bay sits between the coast and the hills.

An uneven gravel track climbs from the small car park at the end of Marriners Lookout Road. It’s short but steep, so take your time on the uphill. The path crosses private land that is open to visitors. Close the gate behind you and take your rubbish back out. The route isn’t suitable for wheelchairs, and there are no toilets on the track. Parking can be busy on weekends and public holidays.

Sunrise is a lovely time for the view, but a clear day is what lets the panorama stretch along the coast. From the top, frame Apollo Bay’s crescent beach and town together; the shoreline gives the picture its shape.
