Trail guide
Riverview Quiet Walkway is a 0.9-mile loop from the US 441 roadside pullout to the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River and back. Most of it follows a broad, smooth old roadbed; the riverside section is nearly level, while the return is narrower, rougher and steeper. Allow about 30–60 minutes. The sampled route gains about 160 feet in total, mostly on the return.
For an easier out-and-back, follow the broad roadbed down to the river-facing bench and retrace it. That is about 0.8 mile using the reported 0.4-mile approach each way. The loop adds a short riverside link and the more difficult return.
The old roadbed leads to a log bench facing the river. On the way back, the broad path passes a small opening and a pawpaw grove before turning gently uphill. A concrete bridge support stands across the river; the valley was settled before it became part of the park. Spring brings flowers along the path, including bloodroot, yellow trillium, creeping phlox and foamflower, though the bloom varies from year to year.
On the full loop, take the riverside path to the narrow return before a tight cluster of four tulip poplars and a maple on the right. The turn cuts left just before the trees and is easy to miss. That rougher climb passes old stone walls and an umbrella-leaf magnolia before reaching the pullout.
Use the paved US 441 pullout across from the Huskey Gap Trail access. A physical parking tag is required for vehicles parked longer than 15 minutes. Pets are not allowed on this walkway. The smooth roadbed is the easier choice; skip the narrow return if you want to avoid its rougher, steeper footing.
