Java Jack's Restaurant & Gallery is a restaurant and art gallery in a yellow house at 88 Main Street North in Rocky Harbour. The food draws on Newfoundland ingredients—seafood, wild game, fresh produce and wild berries—and local art is part of the setting. I'd choose it when you want a meal with a regional feel and time to slow down in town. It gives you a different kind of stop from Gros Morne's trails and coastal viewpoints: sit down to eat and look around the gallery. It's best for visitors already passing through or staying in Rocky Harbour, not a special drive just to see the building.

The business began as a café in 2000, serving coffee and bag lunches for hikers. By 2003 it had added an upstairs restaurant. That’s a useful piece of local history: Java Jack's grew from a practical stop for people spending long days outdoors into a restaurant and gallery. The business changed hands in May 2024, when Mandy Payne and her husband Steve took over; Mandy had been its general manager for several years. Older menu details shouldn't be treated as today's offerings.
