Lake Richie Canoe Campground is a primitive, three-site campground on the north shore of inland Lake Richie, along the Chain of Lakes paddling route. It has tent-only, boat-to sites, so this is an overnight for people already traveling by canoe or kayak, not a roadside stop. If you want an interior-lake night with a simple shoreline campsite, keep it on your route; getting here takes planning.

Plan the portageCanoes and kayaks are the only access. The listed portages are 0.

Canoes and kayaks are the only access. The listed portages are 0.6 mile from Intermediate Lake, 0.6 mile from Lake LeSage, 1.2 miles from Chippewa Harbor, or 2 miles from Moskey Basin. Campsites are first come, first served, and you need an overnight permit; permits are free for parties of six or fewer. The limit is two nights from June 1 through Labor Day. The usual campground season runs April 16 through October 31. Pets aren't allowed in the park.

Expect a small, rough, wooded site rather than a developed campground: there's a seasonal composting toilet, non-potable water, and food lockers available year-round. There is no camp store, staff, cell service, internet, or trash collection, so arrive with food and a way to manage your water and waste. The ground is uneven and the campground isn't wheelchair accessible. Check current conditions before relying on lake water.
