Lake Richie Campground is a small backcountry campground on the north shore of Lake Richie, along Isle Royale's inland Chain of Lakes route. Keep it in mind if you're hiking or paddling through the island's interior and want an overnight by the water. It takes a real route commitment, so it isn't a quick drive-up stop.
You can arrive on foot from the Indian Portage Trail, or by canoe or kayak. The portages are 0.6 mile from Intermediate Lake or Lake LeSage, 1.2 miles from Chippewa Harbor, and 2 miles from Moskey Basin. Private boats can't reach this inland campground, so build the carries into your route.
