Grant Grove Cabins is a cluster of timber and tent cabins in Grant Grove Village at roughly 6,500 feet. It’s a useful in-park base if being near the sequoias matters more than having the same comforts in every unit: the General Grant Tree, nearby trails and village services are within walking distance. There are six cabin types, so check the exact one before booking.
The options range from tent cabins to timber units. Duplex cabins have a private bath, while camp and tent cabins share a bathhouse. Tent cabins have no heat or electricity. Cabin 9, called the Honeymoon Cabin, dates to 1910 and is the village’s oldest surviving building; its comforts are specific to that unit and shouldn’t be assumed across the cluster.
Check-in is at John Muir Lodge across from the visitor center, beside the village restaurant. The market and post office are nearby, and parking and restrooms serve the cabin area. The park lists the site as wheelchair accessible but doesn’t detail which cabin and bathroom arrangements meet that standard, so ask about the specific unit when booking. Dogs are allowed for a fee; confirm the current policy with the concessioner.
