Hiking Church Fell Walk at Sizergh

The walk in shortChurch Fell walk is a closed 2.

Church Fell walk is a closed 2.5-mile loop taking about 2 hours at an easy pace, running from the castle car park up to St John's Church, Helsington, on Church Fell, then back down past the Holeslack Farm area. Rate it easy to lower-moderate, around 3 out of 10.

The going is a mix of compacted track, public footpath and bridleway through farmland, with grass, rock and firmer surfaces underfoot. Mapping flags some rough sections and short steep slopes.

The mapped route is not a high exposed ridge or technical scrambling line. The practical friction is uneven ground and one steepish section, so take boots with grip and expect a working farm landscape rather than a manicured path.
