Overview
Tucked deep in the Quinault Rain Forest, Graves Creek Campground is the park’s classic “come for the trees, stay for the solitude” spot. It’s primitive, peaceful, and draped in moss—more about the sound of the river than the hum of generators.
The Setting
Expect towering cedar, hemlock, and fir, with thick fern undergrowth and the Quinault River close by. Some sites sit just steps from the water. It’s remote enough that cell service is unreliable, which is half the charm.
Campsites & Amenities
There are about 30 first-come, first-served sites open year-round, suitable for tents and small RVs (around 21 ft). Facilities are bare-bones: a vault toilet, picnic tables, and fire rings. There’s no potable water, no showers, no hookups, and no trash service—plan to pack in all water and pack out all garbage.
Trails Right From Camp
This is a prime launch point for the Enchanted Valley Trail, a beloved rainforest route with big scenery. If you want something shorter, Pony Bridge is a popular out-and-back. Being able to roll out of your tent and straight onto these trails is the campground’s ace.
Wildlife
Elk and deer are common in the area, and black bears, coyotes, and eagles are possible sightings. Follow strict food-storage practices to avoid animal encounters.
What to Expect
The access road is long and can be bumpy with potholes—go slow, and large RVs should think twice. Summer can fill, especially on weekends; shoulder seasons are quieter and extra serene. Dampness and mosquitoes can be part of the deal in spring and summer.

- Summer for the best trail conditions and long evenings, but arrive early for a site.
- Midweek or off-season for maximum quiet and open sites.
