North Fork Campground is a small, remote campground in the temperate rain forest of Olympic’s Quinault Valley. With nine first-come, first-served sites and self-registration at camp, it suits a simple stay close to the forest and nearby trails.
The sites have picnic tables and fire rings, with a pit toilet nearby and no running water. An accessible vault toilet is at the North Fork trailhead, but the campground itself is not accessible. North Shore Road is narrow; RVs and trailers are not recommended. Winter storms often damage roads in the Quinault Valley, so check current road conditions before driving in.
Longer hikes start at the North Fork trailhead. For a shorter walk, Irely Lake Trail starts about a quarter-mile before camp and climbs about 100 feet over 1.1 miles to a shallow lake.
