Guide
This is a small backcountry campground in an alpine bowl beside Aster Lake. The lake and mountain setting are the payoff; it suits experienced hikers who want a remote overnight, not anyone looking for an easy side trip.
There are six campsites, pit toilets, secure food lockers and grey-water disposal. Fires aren't allowed. A creek is listed as the water source, but whether it is safe to drink without treatment isn't specified, so bring a way to purify it. Don't count on a shared eating area or tables; campers have reported neither. Bring your food and everything else you'll need.
