Use the NPWS Regional Office carpark in Audley. The path starts a short distance across the sloping asphalt carpark; two accessible parking spaces, accessible toilets and picnic tables are at the start. Royal National Park entry fees apply.

Hiking Bungoona Lookout and Path

A short lookout walkBungoona Lookout and Path is a 0.

Bungoona Lookout and Path is a 0.92 km out-and-back from the NPWS Regional Office carpark in Audley; allow about 30 minutes. A wide, mostly concrete path crosses native bushland to a platform above the Hacking River. The river and wooded valley are the payoff. It is a Grade 1 walk with no steps, best thought of as an easy pause on a park visit rather than a long hike.

The route and accessThe path is about 1.

The path is about 1.5 m wide and mostly flat or gently sloping, with a mild downhill over the final 100 m to the lookout; the return climbs that stretch. Four benches sit along the path and two more are at the platform. From the NPWS Regional Office carpark, cross the sloping asphalt area and follow the clear signs. The route is a return walk on the same path. Accessible parking, toilets and picnic tables are at the start, and Royal National Park entry fees apply.
