Wildlife
Keep your voice down and you might spot wallabies, possums or sugar gliders at dawn and dusk. Overhead, expect a parade of local birds—sulphur‑crested cockatoos, crimson rosellas, yellow‑tailed black cockatoos and rainbow lorikeets are regulars.
Getting There & Nearby
Access is straightforward via sealed roads: from Princes Highway, turn onto Farnell Avenue, left just before Audley Weir, and continue to the end. If you want more than a picnic, nearby walking tracks and the Audley precinct (with boat hire and a cafe) round out an easy day.
Fees, Hours & Practicalities
Park entry fees apply ($12 per vehicle per day). Royal National Park is generally open 7:00 am–8:30 pm and gates are locked after closing. Check NSW National Parks alerts for weather, fire danger and any closures, supervise kids near the river, and pack sun and insect protection.
